Length
For short stories please submit works of between one and three thousand words in length. If submitting a novel for serialised publication, please divide your manuscript into chunks of between 1000 and 3000 words and send the first installment for consideration. If accepted, you can then send one installment per week up until the full manuscript, or as much as you want to e-publish, is up on Newstoryteller.
Type of Story
Any genre is OK, but nothing that involves racisism, homophobic attitudes or sexual violence, (unless well justified by the story). We reserve the right to refuse any story, the content of which we judge to be inappropriate for this site.
Your Rights
You retain ALL copyright to your story, and we will remove it at a later date if you request. (If for example the same story is accepted for publication in a print magazine.) We ask for only the right to publish your story on The Storyteller, by your consent.
Payment
As this is a volunteer based webzine, we do not offer payment for publishing your submissions.
Response time.
We make no promises as to how long it will take to get back to you, but if your story is accepted for publication you should hear from us within two weeks of the date you submitted it. If you do not hear back; sorry, but your submission has not been successful on this occasion. If your story is not accepted for publication this does not necessarily mean it is no good. Newstoryteller picks out stories that fit the overall style of the site. The decision to feature a story or not is the subjective choice of the editor.Feel free to submit your works to other sites simultaniously.
