April 2008

NST is currently seeking submissions from budding authors and seasoned pros alike. Doesn't really matter because the only thing we judge a story on is whether, in our humble opinion, it is any good. And whether it fits in with the overall character of the site. OK. That was two things, I admit.

For newcomers: NST is dedicated to showcasing quality stories. We e-publish short to medium length pieces, that can easily be read in a single sitting. This month starts off with some highly polished little gems, which will add some sparkle to anyone's day.

Halloween just ain't the same in New Zealand; although two young girls try their hardest to observe American customs in Halloween in the Antipodes, a bittersweet tale of childhood dreams dissolved.

The Last Englishman is the, almost familiar, tale of an older man who feels intimidated by heartless teenagers of his local town. Strike a chord with anyone?

Lastly we bring you a beautifully written and slightly disturbing story of a young girl with a vivid imagination, in Red Woolen Mittens

See the 'Archive' link for a host of other shorts which have been publish on NST over the last year and a half. Also we are currently accepting work for anyone and everyone who feels they have something they want to share with the wider world. All work considered, author's keep all rights to their work...so there's nothing stopping you from booting up your laptop and beginning to tap out a tale this very moment.
